What you'll do

The first part of your Experience is the guided tour, where you will hear the quirky stories of Dublin's lesser known personalities. Marvel at the tales of Maria Higgins, the woman who died once - yet who was buried twice in Glasnevin and find out why Francis de Groot opened the Sydney Harbour Bridge when he wasn't supposed to. Also included in this Experience is complimentary admission to climb the O'Connell Tower, which is Ireland's tallest round tower. Those who climb the 198 steps to the top are rewarded with breath taking views of Dublin and its surrounding areas. Please see health and safety rules for climbing the O'Connell Tower below: Under 8s not permitted, 8-12 year olds must be accompanied by an adult (1 adult to 1 child). 12-16 year olds must be accompanied by an adult 1 adult to max 3 children Visitors climb the tower at their own risk Handbags, rucksacks and baggage must be left in lockers provided

Where you'll be

You'll tour part of the 124 acres of our Victorian Garden Cemetery; as well as learning about Ireland's heroes, you can explore the Celtic crosses and the yew trees. Also included in your Experience is free entry into the City of the Dead Exhibition in our museum and a 10% discount in the Tower Cafe, which is located on-site.

Guest requirements

Up to 5 guests ages 18 and up can attend. Parents may also bring children under 2 years of age. This is a walking tour and lasts one and a half hours so it is advised to wear comfortable shoes.

Government ID

You’ll need to take a picture of yourself that matches the photo on your ID. This is so Airbnb can confirm who’s actually going on the experience. You’ll only have to do this once.
