Make your own batik in a family shop

98 reviews
This will be a casual day at a family-owned batik business. The class can be run by Liz, Dogol (Liz's uncle) or Sari (Liz's aunty). It really depends who is available that day. When you arrive at the shop, you will be greeted one of us, and then an expert batik-maker will explain the process of batik to you. …

I am the granddaughter of the owners of the first batik shop in Bali. I was raised in Java, went to an international school, and graduated from university in Melbourne. I want to help continue my grandmama's love of batik by welcoming you into our home and shop. My uncle is an expert batik-maker, a simple man from the mountains Kintamani in Bali. He has been working in this batik shop over 30 years. He is funny and loves having a good time. My aunty was born and raised in the Batik business, she has alot of knowledge about batik.

Where you'll be

My family is the first to have a batik shop in the island of Bali. We are pioneers among batik makers and sellers. This experience will take place in our second shop, where the family also lives.
