What we’ll do

We will walk for two hours along forest road and mountain trail to the spectacular Hyakuhiro Waterfall. We'll have lunch there. On the way back we detour, with some effort, to a secret pool, 2m deep and 20m in length. Be prepared to jump across and clamber over rocks to get there. You will have photos of Tokyo that your friends will not believe. Then, back in Okutama how about meetingg the locals?

This riverside hike is special for Tokyo, mainly through deciduous forest with enchanting scenes at every turn. The trail was closed after massive snows in 2014. You will see how it has been reopened in an environmentally friendly way. David will explain issues around forest and trail maintenance.
