What you'll do

Embark on a captivating space journey in the endless beauty of the World Heritage-listed Greater Blue Mountains skies. Join us for a fun, interactive and insightful sky watching nocturnal tour, stargazing experience and fascinating storytelling.

Perfect night out for all ages, date nights, families, groups and locals, this unforgettable tour features Australia’s spectacular night sky away from the city lights. A wonderful opportunity to experience the Southern Sky and its celestial wonders only visible from the Southern hemisphere.

We'll start the tour with a quick introduction of the history of the Blue Mountains through time. We'll follow with tips and hacks on how to identify stars and constellations with the naked-eye and introduce you to the celestial dance of planets, satellites, navigation, the Universe, our home Galaxy and beyond...

You will then observe through the professional-grade telescope objects such as (depending on the time of year and night):

- The Moon and its craters and seas
- Saturn’s rings
- The moons of Jupiter
- Mars & Venus
- The Orion Nebula
- Star clusters
- Double & triple stars
- Deep space objects such as galaxies and our fabulous Milky Way
- Shooting stars if you are lucky!

I will delve into the study of every object and answer all your questions.

We look forward to sharing this moment with you in this special place in the world.
Other things to note
Please be aware that astronomy tours are weather dependent, they may be cancelled in case of cloud cover meaning no visible stars. We will message you 1 hour before the start of the tour to confirm or cancel it. In case of bad weather, you will receive a refund. You can also rebook another date.

When I was a child, my parents told me that I was always looking at stars up into the sky. Fast-forward 25 years later, I was graduating with a PhD in Astronomy & Astrophysics from Macquarie University.

I absolutely love sharing my passion with the public. I have 10+ years experience and an extensive experience working with children. I worked as an Astronomy guide at Sydney Observatory, at Mt John Observatory, the world-renowned astronomical observatory in Lake Tekapo (New Zealand) and as an Astronomy & Field Guide at the luxury resort Emirates One & Only Wolgan Valley (Blue Mountains).

I spend my time exploring the Blue Mountains looking for aboriginal engravings, making my natural-materials survival gear and developing my men’s coaching business. My fiancé Caroline and I found our home sanctuary in Leura in the Blue Mountains.

Excellent experience in a beautiful location. The hosts were very hospitable by bringing warm blankets for the guests on a very very cold winter night. Oat milk was the perfect and delicious extra touch. Hosts are super friendly and charismatic. Recommended experience!

What a great experience! Dimitri is a great story teller and with his kind sidekick Caroline they make a great team and a great tour for their guests. Warm creamy hot chocolates with cozy blankets to start finished off with an epic view of the moon and the constellations in our galaxy. Would recommend and will go again to see the planets (September time). Thank you both!

Had a magical stargazing experience with Dimitri and Caroline. Dimitri had unlimited knowledge of space and was a great storyteller. Caroline made excellent hot chocolates and there was a blanket for everyone to keep us warm. Would highly recommend and will definitely book another experience.

The Stargazing Tour was amazing, the Wentworth falls look out location has the most amazing view of the sky. Dimitri is knowledgeable in his field and Caroline is thoughtful in maintaining the safety measure and comfort for all guests. My boyfriend and I went at the end of May so warm clothing is highly recommended. Overall, I learned some amazing knowledge in the star system, highly recommend this tour for everyone!!
