What you'll do
We will bake fruit, lavender and berry scones, and spelt or brown bread.
I will bake on my side of the video, while the guest will bake at the same time at their place. Im going to do all the baking step by step with them.
I believe in the hands on experience for my guests - from handling ingredients to kneading dough.
It isn't all about the cooking, I share lots of tips from my experience over the years.
I love to see the faces full of excitement and joy at the sight of the end product - freshly baked scones and bread.
And best of all we have lots of fun.

How to participate

- Oven - preheat at 150ºC
- 1 Bowl; 1 wooden spoon; 1 scone cutter (you can use a glass instead); 1 tray to bake the scones; 1 loaf tin '1lb' (7and half inch) o bake the bread
- For the Bread: 9oz (255g/ 2 cups )of brown flour; 2oz (57g/4 tbsp) of self raisin flour; 1/5 teaspoon of salt; 1 teaspoon of bread soda; 1 teaspoon of sunflower oil; 2oz (57g/4 tbsp) of porridge oats; 300ml of buttermilk; 1 egg)For the Bread: 9oz (255g/ 2 cups )of brown flour; 2oz (57g/4 tbsp) of self raisin flour; 1/5 teaspoon of salt; 1 teaspoon of bread soda; 1…

Kate was fantastic! She shared a bit of Irish history and was really patient when I mixed up an ingredient and needed her tips and more time to improve my scone mix texture. She truly helped me fix my scones - she could just tell what the mixture needed from the Zoom! - and they came out SCRUMPTIOUS. This is a great experience for experienced bakers, beginner bakers, individuals or a group of friends. Overall, the recipes were simple and included ingredients many might already have on hand. I do recommend measuring everything out before the experience starts - doing so made things a bit more seamless. I only wish we had more time to talk with Kate and learn more about Ireland!

Kate's class was so wonderful! Barely felt like any work at all, we were just chatting up a storm like old friends. The scones and bread turned out great, and more than that, I feel so much more confident for future bakes now that I know how to do it the authentic Irish way. Can't recommend this class enough, and I'm very excited for the future when I can travel to Galway and visit her cafe in person.
