What you'll do

So, you've made a wise decision to visit the city, where buildings of various eras are combined - from medieval castles and houses to baroque palaces, from slums of workers of the 18-19 centuries to modern shopping centers. Our first destination is, of course, Nottingham Castle, now there is a museum with an exposition telling about the history of the city. Right outside the castle gates is a monument to the legendary justice fighter Robin Hood. Sherwood Forest is located near the village of Edwinstow, where Robin lived with his comrades, it is a park area now. It is notable for long-lived oak, whose age is estimated at 800-1000 years. Then, we will visit following places: Renaissance Palace Wallaton Hall, surrounded by a picturesque park, with its Natural History Museum; The Gothic Church of St. Barnabas, located at the intersection of Derby Road and North Circus Street; The largest Nottingham medieval church of St. Mary; Galleries of Justice - the Museum of Crimes and Punishments; City of Caves - a branch of the Museum of Crimes, talks about the conditions in which people worked in underground labyrinths; The town hall, built relatively recently, in 1927-1929, in the neo-baroque style. A 61-meter-high dome crowns the building and majestically rises above Old Market Square, the largest square in the country.
