What you'll do
The second largest and most populated city of Lower Saxony, the city of Heinrich Leo and Thiel Uhlenpiegel, the capital of the once powerful Duchy of Braunschweig, today is a city of science (the density of research institutes is almost the highest in Europe, the famous University, Aerospace Administration and the Federal Physics and Physics technical department, where the total German state time is measured on an atomic clock). During our sightseeing tour of the old city, we will see magnificent monuments, witnesses of the history of the city of different eras. The majestic Cafferd cathedral and the castle of Dankwarderode will remind you of the novel, where we will talk about glorious times when the possessions of the Saxon dukes extended to Bavaria itself! During the Renaissance, a thriving trading city was decorated with luxurious merchant and burgher houses. In the XIX century, the New Town Hall appeared, from its tower a beautiful view of the old city opens. And just recently, in 2007, the townspeople restored the ducal Residence and again decorated it with a luxurious quadriga - the largest in Europe! Then we will surely taste hearty dishes of local cuisine and drink them with excellent beer. In the end we will visit one of the city museums (the most valuable historical and art collections of Braunschweig are known throughout Germany!)
I am a lawyer by education, but the passion for tourism and geography was stronger and became my profession and the meaning of my life. I have 20 years of work experience related to Sweden, Scandinavia and Germany. Working as a translator, escort, developer and organizer of travel programs has made me an excellent specialist. I traveled with tourist groups all over the world (USA and Latin America, South Africa), then I lived and worked in Sweden. Since 2006 I have been living in Germany. During my time in Germany, I established myself as an excellent specialist in local cities and added new routes to my "guide baggage": Berlin, Hamburg and Braunschweig.
