What you'll do

We will arrive at the meeting place and have a coffee together to discuss the day. We will then take the cable car up to 2,100m to begin our hike. The hike will take around 6 hours where we will cross the bottom of the greatest glacier in the alps. Please bring a spare pair of socks as we will stop to soak our feet in one of the lakes. We will finish the hike with a local beer, coffee or tea at Winston Churchills holiday castle which he used during World War II. I recommend this hike to people who have experience with 5 to 7 hour hikes.

Grüetzi. My name is Nick. I am a local expert of the Oberwallis region. I have been hiking in the area for over 30 years. I love walking in nature and going on isolated hikes away from the crowds. Look at my instagram account https://www.instagram.com/swissexcursions/ to see more.

Where you'll be

We'll take the cable car up to 2,100m and walk along the plateau before we descend about 600m to the famous 124m long hanging bridge crossing the bottom of the Aletsch Glacier. The scenery is the typical photos of Switzerland you can only see in magazines. After we finish the hike, we'll enjoy a few drinks at Winston Churchill's holiday house.
