What you'll do
We'll take a stroll down "Brewers’ Row", where several notable beer barons are entombed in lavish mausoleums, and learn about their lives and the history of local brewing on this special guided interactive tour. Following our tour we'll be joined by Bridge and Tunnel Brewery for a guided tasting of their locally made brews.
Hi, I'm James, a member of the Atlas Obscura community. I am a New York City Tour Guide specializing in Manhattan and Brooklyn with an emphasis on the historic cemeteries of the area. I am the Head Historic Tour Guide at The Evergreens Cemetery and part of the staff of guides at Green-Wood Cemetery. I have also run a series of "Foodie" tours in NYC. I consider beer to be food (hey, it's liquid bread) so this tour is a joy for me to combine my love of history and beer drinking.

Where you'll be
We'll visit an elaborate Egyptian Revival mausoleum that was inspired by the discovery of King Tut's tomb in 1922. Marvel at the grave of the owners of a "mom-and-pop" brewery whose famous nearby mansion is now a designated City Landmark, and speculate about the mysterious death of a brewer who may have been the victim of a serial arsonist.
