What you'll do

Have you ever thought it was possibile joining two unforgettable experiences together? Riding is more than a pass time, is a lifestyle, but riding all the way long ancient roman ruins, villas, circuses, mausoleums, this will be something you’ll never forget! A famous motto says “when in Rome do like Romans”. The Appian Way, the longest and oldest ancient roman road, still preserves the original pavy, so our horses will step on the same stones roman’s did, when they were excellent riders…less lazy than modern roman citizens:) but smaller, so short that to help them getting on and off horses while traveling, smart ancient engineers provided roads whit high stone made step stools, what now we call sidewalks, did you know that? If you want to know more about Ancient Romans, monuments along the Appian Way and equestrian history of Roman Empire, choose to book a tour with our archeological guide! Our Archaeo Ride experience will start with a meeting at the stable with our Equestrian Archaeological Guide to introduce the history of the Appian Way and will then continue with a 1 hour ride along the most beautiful section of the Queen of Roads. Will end back at the stable together with the Archaeo guide happy to answer to all your questions and curiosities!

Lorella

My name is Lorella, I was born and raised in Rome, a city of fabulous beauty and history. I'm an equestrian guide and I decided to dedicate my life and change my life style when I discovered the beauty of horses - horses are one incarnation of beauty. My suggestion to people coming to Rome is to ride the beauty and of particular interest to many is my guided horseback tour of the Appian Way, one of Ancient Rome’s oldest and most important roads, built in 312 BC. Our stable is also a piece of history, you can join a real family atmosphere! As Lorella Muzi I'm also a Home Host in Airbnb with 3 apartments in the center of the famous city of Assisi in the heart of Umbria region in the center of Italy and is always my pleasure to give my best to all Airbnb travelers!
