What you'll do
This experience is designed for people willing to understand the life of young Cubans students at the University of Havana and visit the modern center of the capital. So, if you want to have a real insight into Cuba from the university students perspective, this is your opportunity. We are going to get in touch with the reality that most students face. Our aim is to understand how we really think and live. On one hand, how we deal with the day-to-day in this unique country. But we are also going to have an overview of how the Cuban system works and furthermore put a stress on the design of our education system. Our experience is wrapped into a nice walk, that will give us as well an overview of the modern center of Havana in El Vedado district, the ideal scene for us. Our walk starts from the stairway of the prestigious University of Havana for getting in contact with its history, present, student movement and little known details about the campus. We will take a time to eat and use the transportation system as the students are used to. During the journey we will visit important places of transit and meeting of the young people such as “Calle G” and Rampa avenue, learning what make them obligatory meeting points. The walk ends in a nice and artistic Café where youthful vibes are felt. Are you ready to dive into our world for a couple of hours? Are you ready for a huge paradox?
Taymi Y Claudia
We are cousins and also two young girls who study and work at the University of Havana, so we are very aware of the life and youth environment in our range of action. We love this area of Havana, the vibes, its people, the emblematic university and the dynamics that are constantly generated in a context that we have been part of for more than five years. That is why we would like to share our experiences and knowledge in a tour that proposes to visit one of the areas most frequented by Havana youth.
Where you'll be
We will visit the University of Havana. Later we will move along G Street and Rampa Avenue. We will finish in a nice Café.
