What you'll do
We will welcome you with sangria or soft drink of your choice followed by a Mexican cooking class. You will learn how to make Sangria, salsa verde and guacamole in a malcajete. Following the cooking demonstration and tasting we will embroider an apron with the iconic Frida Kahlo's image! you will learn 3 basic stitches and can select from a myriad of colors. Including in the class is the apron, a carry bag, a hoop needle and enough thread to complete your project
Ex fashion executive dedicating my time to the resurging art of hand embroidery. In my former life I traveled the world shopping for the latest trends and color stories....always with a needle in my hand. It’s been a winding road....but the thread has always led back to embroidery. I am currently teaching hand embroidery for Craft Jam and hosting workshops in black work, goldwork and Jacobean crewel.....and using embroidery to upscale an old sweatshirt or tote bag! Stitching is the perfect way to disconnect and tune out in a hectic city!
