What you'll do
First, we visit a local walking street and hear about the historical developments in the area. Then we visit some huge courtyards that many locals have never seen and learn about how people live and the visions for urban planning that define the area. We visit a viewpoint and a sports facility and an square full of sculptures. We go through one more courtyard and then visit a park and a culture house run by local volunteers and learn about some of the innovative ideas of local people and their community activites, challenges with local gangs and more. We then explore the big Assistens Cemetery and visit the graves of Hans Christian Andersen and Niels Bohr. Then we get some time to do a little shopping in a street full of specialty boutiques. And finally we walk through a ground-breaking park with installations, playgrounds and "street furniture" from around the world, built in cooperation with locals. If you opt for our lunch tour, the tour includes lunch and two beer and you learn about micro-beer. The lunch tour ends at Jægersborggade, the coolest street in the world, and you can therefore go shopping on your own afterwards.
I have been a guide in 20 countries for more than 10 years and have always been the best rated by guests. I have lived in Nørrebro for more than 20 years and was born in Copenhagen. Nørrebro is the most diverse area in Scandinavia in terms of people and probably with less cars than any other area. I have spent a long time researching the places we visit, and even people living for years in Nørrebro are surprised by the places my tour visits. My tour is also very diverse, and most of it goes through green areas: parks and courtyards. We also visit a shopping street that NY Times has named "the coolest street in the world". On our food tour, I take you to one of the best micro-breweries on the planet and we also have lunch in one of the best local restaurants.
Veg or non-veg pita bread sandwich. Two different types of beer.
