What you'll do

If you want to see some great examples of Yugoslav design, be it architecture, industrial or graphic design, discover hidden flea markets or take amazing photographs of this weirdly interesting city, join me and create your very own Belgrade experience.

We start in the city center, from a location that is often overlooked but as Belgrade in general, hides so much history. If you shoot on film, we will go to a local photo store to get a roll of film for you.

Visiting my favorite flea market, walking distance from the starting point, where you can find really anything - a film camera, stamps, postcards, vintage clothes, pins, toys, plates from the 50s, you name it.

Going back to the beginning of the 20th century, we get to see the first graffiti ever painted in Belgrade and then fast forward to one of the most amazing logos created in the mid-80s.

On the way, we get to see some hidden murals and one amazing rooftop view of Belgrade. To end the tour, you get to choose and visit either an amazing coffee shop with a bunch of plants and cute wall art or a traditional cake shop with superb sweets and interior that has not changed in more than a few decades. Or both if you feel like it!

Hello!

I'm a graphic designer with an analog camera in his head. I have been shooting on film for the last 8 years and spent a couple of years learning about film photography in and outside educational institutions.

I have lived in Serbia, the USA, and Belgium and had an opportunity to discover many great places but Belgrade is the closest to what I can call home. I got to know it inside and out through participating in different parts of its life, from living, studying and working here, being part of its film and music festivals to creating and supporting street art that is still around.

I am also a writer for the Belgrade Spotted by locals blog for more than two years now.

Where you'll be

A flea market - that is right next to a farmers market. Get some organic snacks while we browse through old photos, used cameras, books published in the 60s and vintage looking clothes.

On the street! - We will walk quite a lot, but that will give you a sense of what Belgrade is and I'll get to share many stories about the city with you.

A cake shop - hidden in plain sight. With superb looking sweets and hidden gems of industrial design.

A wonderful and lovely tour with Dorde, who absolutely shares a very unique insight of the city of Belgrade. Together we visited a very fancy flea market - again full of various cool stuff, and stopped by a few great sweets shops. Lots of arts and great stories all along the way, and Dorde is also so sweet to let me try on one of his analogue cameras - totally awesome! Cheers mate!

Djordje is amazing young, vital, easy going and passionate person. We had absolutely wonderfull time with him. He gave us a lot of greate tips and info about architecture, history and local customs. We had delicious bites and bloodless hunting on flee market. Time flew so easily that we didnt noticed when our walk has ended and still there was so much to talk about. Thanks to Djordje Belgrade isnt strange anymore and in its specific chaos and rush we found truly seducing face of that city.

Djordje’s tour is one of the best experience I had with Airbnb. Personal, informative and fun. Djordje is not your regular tour guide, he is wonderfully witty, and a cool person with abundant knowledge ranging from history of the region to the design of the ex-Yugoslavia. I recommend everyone to book his tour, to get a fresher perspective of this wonderful, yet underrated city. Thank you!

Djordje's tour was awesome. Solid three hours exploring some fantastic Belgrade locations - some big and obvious and others only a local can show you. Djordje is a great guide, full of knowledge and super enthusiastic. Also the cake shop is great! Thanks Djordje, highly recommend for photographers and urban explorers alike!
