What you'll do
This experience will start early in the morning when birds are more active. We will receive you in our farm around 7:00 in the morning. Here we will offer breakfast and have our first watching station in our garden. We will then go to the second station in a nearby lake, where water related birds can be seen. We will then walk along the coffee fields stopping at some lookout points. We will continue downhill and visit the "Cascada", a magical, more than 30 meters high waterfall in the middle of a guadua (native bamboo) forest. Then, after a little hike through the coffee fields and the guadua forest we will reach the Roble River. Finally we will start our way back up hill to our farm's main house where you can rest and relax, while enjoying some more of our own delicious coffee, the beatiful views, and more birds. This route goes through 5 different habitats: garden, lake, coffee and plantain fields, forest, and river, where various bird species can be found.
Alejandro & Carolina
Carolina and Alejandro are a long married couple. Carolina is a preschool and yoga teacher, and Alejandro is an anthropologist. We've been living and working permanently in our family's coffee farm in Quindío since 2013, where we grow coffee and plantains, following a sustainable type of agriculture, with great respect to nature, and trying to preserve native ecosystems, plants, trees, animals and sceneries. We became interested in birds when we came to live on the farm and saw the abundance and variety of them, and since then we have been partly dedicated to identify the species found here.
Breakfast: local fruit, eggs, pandebono, coffee, juice
Local fruit juice and bottled water. The coffee we offer is our own, delicious, single origin, specialty coffee:…
OPTIONAL. If you need transportation to get to the farm, please let us know with anticipation so we can put you in contact…
Where you'll be
