What you'll do

After a quick tour of my studio and an introduction to the machines I build and work with, you will choose machines and techniques to draw your own artwork(s).
I will walk you through the bespoke processes I have created to use the machines as creative tools, and together we will bring your ideas to life.
While composing your artwork with the machine, you will also get a chance to experience hands-on other forms of digital art such as virtual reality, painting with different robots or even real-time generative art, 3D printing or electronic music with a programmable instrument .
Finally, I will also give you up-to-date information on new media and digital art which can be seen during your stay in London.
Don't hesitate to ask me prior to the experience if you are after something specific, I would do my best to accommodate, but might need time to prepare.
Children and family welcome!
Other things to note
- Private and exclusive experience available (can be booked from Airbnb website, currently not working on mobile phone app)
- Individual or small group experience
- Unfinished drawings can be shipped to you by postal tube

First of all, Damien was a lovely host! We could not have wished better! Damien introduced us to the different techniques he uses for his art and gave us a tour of his studio (while we were snacking and sipping on some wonderfull tea ). Following this, we were to choose which technique we wanted to experiment with. Tip: if you are an artist yourself, make sure to bring your own creations for a unique take on your work. It was a unique experience that we will never forget, and definitely recommend!

We had an unforgettable afternoon at Damien's studio. My teenage son (17 years) was blown over by the artwork he could create, and so proud that Damien showed his appreciation of his work. My second son (14 yeas) had enormous fun playing with the VR. Damien's art really made such an impression on us, and it was an incredible experience to witness the creation process of digital art. We will definitely stay in touch and follow Damien on social media to learn about any future exhibitions and workshops.

It's a great introduction to making physical art with computers. It'll help enormously if you've got a little bit of experience with Arduino, Raspberry Pi or Processing, but not totally needed. Damien's a great host and makes sure you feel at home and are making the most of your time.
