I was born in Lagos all time listening to stories from my uncle who was the curator of a local churche. I joined a History course in Braga University, between 2012 and 2016.
After finishing that course, I started to investigate everything my uncle had taught me in documents, books, of course he was upset. But I can say all that information given from him was accurate.
I learned also from a few erudite´s who I felt that had the same passion for research and for this city. I was lucky to know this people since they were always a reliable source.
I launched the Lagos Walking Tour Project in 2018. Lagos, and all the Algarve, they were always known because of the beautiful beaches and the exquisite cuisine. The idea of me creating this project is to be able to give another cultural offering and perspective besides all the sun and the beaches.

A great introduction to the history of Lagos! Lígio was prompt, friendly, funny, full of enthusiasm and passionate about the history of his city, which he was very happy to share with us. I found the walking tour enjoyable and interesting, and it was great to learn about the history of Lagos and how the city has evolved over the ages. Would definitely recommend!

I highly recommend this walking tour. It included an overview of the history of Lagos throughout the ages, which brought an interesting context to the understanding of the city (and even the Algarve) across the centuries. The tour also included some nice modern art (graffiti). The information was presented at the appropriate level (no overwhelming minucia, but enough detail to make it rich). I found many facts immensely fascinating, and Ligio was kind enough to reply to any questions I had. Finally - Ligio is an excellent guide who is clearly passionate about his role as a guide of the city's history and clear in his explanations; he was attentive and made sure to recommend anything that was needed (including comfortable shoes); and was very easy to communicate with and arrange everything. He's also very kind and good-natured, and even provided recommendations of places to eat, etc. Thanks Ligio!

Tour was very interesting. Our guide was very knowledgeable and had some good jokes. He pointed out things you would never know or see otherwise. He had some very helpful pictures and his stories really connected the dots when it comes to Portugese history. Highly recommended.

My girlfriend Nathalie and I both love history and we are both interested in getting "sense of place" when we are in a new place. So, that in mind, we had a great tour with Ligio! He knows Lagos very well and knows how to give perspective and background. We learned some very nice things about Lagos we didn't read in the books, saw pretty places and very cool street art. And above that, Ligio is a very kind guy. Thnx Ligio!

I really enjoyed this tour, the first thing Ligio said was you’ll never see Lagos the same way and he was right! If you’ve got a spare 2 hours I highly recommend this tour.
