The safety of Hosts and guests using the platform is important to Airbnb, as well as the safety of their homes and neighborhoods.
24-Hour Safety Line
- Our Major Disruptive Events Policy provides cancellation and refund support for our guests when unexpected major events like natural disasters, government travel restrictions or weather events impact their ability to stay at a location.
- This policy explicitly applies to foreseeable weather events, like a hurricane during hurricane season, that result in another covered event happening, like a government travel restriction or large-scale outage of essential utilities. This means guests with eligible reservations can cancel and receive a refund and hosts can cancel without fees and related consequences.

- The 24-Hour Safety Line is a one-click feature within the Airbnb app that provides hosts and guests with direct access to our specialized Safety team in the rare event of a crisis or safety-related concern during a stay. The 24-Hour Safety Line has been developed to be used only during active bookings through the Airbnb platform. For this reason, it is activated in the Safety Center of the Airbnb app 24 hours prior to check-in, and deactivated 24 hours after check-out.
Community support team
