The Nissen hut at HMS Owl was originally built in 1941 by the RAF. The Owl is our family home and took us 5 years to restore it. It has been featured on TV and in numerous design publications. HMS Owl is pretty special as is the restored Nissen available to rent. The Hut is cosy, warm and private with large living space and kitchen and large ensuite bedroom. Number 7 is a stylish cottage in the sought after west end of Elgin. It is just a short walk from the city’s vibrant array of cafes, bars, restaurants and the home of Gordon&MacPhail for the whisky lovers. Recently refurbished with traditional features, including the original cast iron roll top bath for which we highly recommended a relaxing dip with lots of bubbles. Cosy, homely, private cottage in the beautiful Aberdeenshire countryside. Light the log burner and sit back to relax. The old schoolhouse (built in 1866) has loads of character and feels remote and quiet despite being well situated just off the main Banff/Huntly road. Banff is about 5 minutes drive. The garden is large and you have full run of the whole premises during your stay. There are some lovely walks from the house.
