Beautiful mountain log cabin with modern amenities located on the Powell River. This home has a spacious kitchen, large dinning table for family meals, and gorgeous stone fireplace made from stone found on the property. The lower level is very private and is perfect for parents, in-laws, or kids. This is a peaceful get-a-way with plenty of fishing, hiking, and kayaking. Just a few minutes from Jonesville, VA, Hwy. 58 and tourist attractions in driving distance. Your home away from home!
“Theresa's cabin is a lovely hideaway close to Jonesville in Lee County. The cabin is very cozy and comfortable with lots of light from the many windows, and a wrap around porch lets you find that perfect spot to relax with a book. The kitchen is well stocked with equipment to whip up just about anything and the jetted tub in the MBA was welcome after a long day of driving. The property is quiet and secluded, with a variety of wildlife to see, and convenient to hike down to the river. If it were warmer, I would have enjoyed kayaking or floating the river, so I'll have to make plans to come back!”
The Elk Creek Cottage borders the Cumberland Gap National Historical Park property--the pathway to the west, trailblazed by Daniel Boone himself! Stay and hike to Hensley Settlement or Shillalah Creek Falls, fish for Brook-Trout, or relax with a cup of coffee on the porch surrounded by nature. Only a scenic twenty-minute drive to Middlesboro or Pineville, KY separates you from the "city." Come enjoy the peace and quiet that Elk Creek Cottage has to offer.
“Leigh Ann's cabin is an amazing place! We are Super Hosts and even have a cabin of our own. Believe me when I say that Leigh Ann has thought of everything to provide at this cabin. Her personal touches, amenities and hospitality did not go unnoticed! She went above and beyond to provide a great place, quick communication, and wonderful hospitality. Some things we especially appreciated was having firewood on site , a comfortable bed to sleep in and a wonderful porch to sit on after a long day of exploring. There is hiking right out the door which we took advantage of as well as kayaking and more excursions less than 30 minutes away. We came here for a safe place to come away from people for our 32nd anniversary and we got to do everything we love to do right here at The Cumberland Gap. Leigh Ann did a wonderful job renovating and setting up this cabin and we can tell she put her heart into it. You will not be sorry if you book your stay here!”
Our family home built in 1969, recently renovated with a taste of the 70's. Peaceful setting tucked back in Cooney hollow!
“Its kind of neat retro type farm house. I actually love the throw back 70s living room and kitchen. Its quiet and peaceful. The wifi is pretty good for being such a rural location i had plenty of bandwidth to stream video for instance. Sandra is nice enough to let her guests use her own netflix and hulu accounts on the tv. Everything is old school and analog which i actually really liked. The house has everything youd expect like dishware cookware, soap, paper towels, etc. 3 rooms with double beds. I will say i prefer a much softer bed all of these were pretty firm just fyi for travellers. Everything was clean and basically as advertised. Its peaceful and quiet and plenty of local wildlife around. I would be glad to stay again.”
