“Nancy's place was a fantastic and unbelievable escape from our day to day lives, especially in the midst of the current situation. We were looking for a place to escape to and Bear's Den was perfect. Nancy was a great host, immediately responsive to all my questions and concerns. The location was just as described: tip for travelers, make sure to follow the directions that Nancy has provided, because your Google Maps/Waze directions will only get you part of the way. The amenities were absolutely perfect, and we were sure to use them to our advantage. The availability of a canoe and kayaks was just what we were looking for to explore the area, along with how close we were to Katahdin. Although we couldn't get much further up to Katahdin as we had intended, Nancy had provided some great suggestions for alternatives and we were lucky to find other trails to keep us occupied. The den itself is absolutely homey with nice little touches here and there. The views from the window were just breathtaking, especially if you want to take in the morning sunrise. The kitchen had all the amenities we needed, and even ones we hadn't thought of! The wood stove was great to use and definitely kept us warm during the cold nights. All in all, I would definitely recommend Bear's Den for anyone looking to getaway.”

“We could not have enjoyed a better stay at Gray Ghost Camps. We planned to stay only two nights but ended up adding two additional nights for a total of four nights! Monica greeted us when we arrived and made us feel right at home! Our cabin was spotlessly clean (thank you, Monica!); the shower water pressure was strong and great; we had seemingly endless hot water for showers, dishes, etc.; the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking; and the bed was comfortable. The surrounding guests were incredibly quiet, so it was an idyllic little place to be. We loved the paddle boards and kayaks and used them multiple times a day. The river is what paddle board dreams are made of bc the water is so calm. For us, the availability to use these water toys added serious value to our stay and made the price of the stay a great value. We also loved paddling just across the river to Maynard's for coffee and breakfast in the morning. That was an unexpected treat to have that cozy, very affordable restaurant right across from us! Additionally, this location is the perfect access point for the ferry to Mt. Kineo, which is a must-do while you're here! The ferry leaves from Rockwood, which is three miles down the road. Another must-do is Rockwood Bar and Grille! The buffalo chicken pizza with blue cheese base was the best pizza my husband and I have ever had! We highly recommend this place as an affordable home base for exploring this part of Maine! Thank you for having us!”
Misty Morning Cottages is directly on Moosehead Lake with amazing views of Mt. Kineo, the Spencer Mountains and much more! Our location is one of the best fishing destinations for both open water and ice fishing seasons because each of our cottages are just steps away from Moosehead Lake!
“Wonderful cabin literally on the water. My husband and I stayed there for a few days in October to get back to our home state and enjoy the foliage, bird hunt, and cook our favorite unhealthy foods. The cabin was very cozy and warm. The bed was comfortable. The stove /oven was brand new and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook full meals. The shower was small and old but it’s a camp and the good water pressure and temperature made up for it. Misty was very welcoming, came right out when we pulled in. She was very flexible about check in, much more so than other AirBnB hosts who require very specific check in times. She even gave us a map of local hiking trails. Otherwise gave us our space ! The cabin is right by the road in the back but you don’t hear any traffic. Really wanted to use the campfire and picnic table but it was raining. Would definitely stay here again!”
