This small cozy log cabin is nestled in southwest Washington green wilderness. Find yourself peacefully snuggling in the swing on the front porch, listening to the birds chirping, hawk calling and frogs croaking. We are close to the airport, Amtrak station, art and culture, parks, and city center. You’ll love our retreat...the outdoor space, the comfy bed, and the amenities. Couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families alike will enjoy the comforts of home away from home!
“5/5 for everything! This cabin is a sweet gem for anyone who wants some peace and quiet away from the city. Our little family enjoyed our stay here so much and created such beautiful memories playing out in the lush green field, roasting s'mores outside their fire pit, cooking comfort meals in the fully stocked kitchen (we didn't use the oven but great bonus to have) and unwinding with a cup of tea during the day and a glass of wine in the evenings on their gorgeous porch swing listening to the frogs croak. The cabin is extremely cozy, warm, clean and well equipped with games, puzzles, DVD's and a tons of clean towels and linen. We didn't need to access the wifi as we had great LTE connection out there,...but really, why stay connected when you're out in Wildwood connecting with nature? Hosts are extremely kind and accommodating- left us everything you need for s'mores, wood for fire and even came back the next morning to discreetly refill our wood. There's a hiking trail out back by the fire pit as well. Bonus was having a King sized bed! Such a charming cabin, we will be back!”
Looking for a personal retreat site, a central location for adventure, or just a place to spend a night or weekend? This quiet hillside home with amazing views is ten minutes from I-5 and just outside of town. The spacious living room with writing desk, bedroom, bath, mini-kitchen (with hot plate), grill, patio, outdoor fire pit, and private coded entrance are on the lower floor of this rural mid-century modern house—our family home since 1960. (P.S. There is no cleaning fee.)
“I recently learned that in the hour just before dawn, birds sing to announce they have made it safely through another night. Every morning of my stay I heard this joyous noise. That would have been enough. But there are also mountain views, trails through the woods, a cozy bed, a beautifully decorated suite and the best homemade breakfast around. I'm a return guest, many times over, and I am already looking forward to my next trip. Thank you, Gretchen. ”
BETWEEN SEATTLE AND PORTLAND THERE IS LOG HOLLOW... UPDATE: see below for info regarding covid-19 …an off-grid permaculture farm invites you to take a break from your busy life and retreat to a cozy cabin settled in the woods along the Chehalis river. You will stay in a private cabin with it’s own bathroom and kitchenette, powered by solar energy. The main room has a queen-sized bed while the sleeping loft has a double-sized bed. We welcome ALL families with children of all ages.
“Had a great weekend in this small rustic, off-grid cabin. The hosts are very friendly and will tell you whatever you want to know about their working farm. There are four cats, lots of goats, chickens, cows, horses, and a duck. It was cold enough that there was ice on the porch in the morning, but we slept very well even without leaving the heater on at night. But if you are not as cold-blooded as we are, there are two good heaters you can turn on. I found the bed very comfortable (slept in the one on the ground floor, not the loft). For cooking, the kitchen area was well stocked with utensils and misc. cooking items. Again, the hosts are super friendly, and all you have to do is ask for anything you need.”
