Lord Jagannath temple and Sea beach both are at walkable distance. Home food is available.
“The hosts and their hospitality is the best part about this property, followed by it’s location. The rooms and dining spaces are clean and are equipped with everything one may need for a short stay. The hosts are not just friendly but also very responsive and responsible. The hosts respond to phone calls and messages almost instantly. The home cooked food was a delight- I’ll suggest all guests to try that. It was a pleasure staying with them. I’d highly recommend this homestay.”

“We were seven of us in the family that travelled to Bhubaneswar. Many things we loved about this place we chose to stay based on Airbnb review a) Clean and tidy b) Parents living in the floor below were very helpful despite their busy life c) Comfortable size and amenities d) location. For vegetarians like us, there wasn't a restaurant at walking distance (wishful). But Swiggy was able to home-deliver (for 15 rupees more) and there are plenty of auto-rickshaws within a minute's walk to go to a near one that was 2 kms away that served very good food. Glad we chose to stay here and would be happy to recommend to others.”
Located 400 meters from Model Beach Puri, 500 meters from Railway station. One bedroom is in the ground floor with attached bathroom and 3 bedrooms in the 1st floor
“Our host Mr. Naidu is a thorough gentleman. He answered all my queries promptly and gave important and timely suggestions, which helped us a lot. He being a resident of the capital city, even paid us a friendly visit during our brief stay at Bhubaneswar. His place at Puri is a newly built elegant and eye catching property, very near to Puri Railway Station. It has four bedrooms. Two moderately large and a smaller one. The fourth one is in the ground floor. As we were only three persons (my wife and daughter along with me), we never had to enter the fourth one. First floor has one bedroom to one side of the staircase, two adjacent bedrooms on the other. Entry to the third (smaller) bedroom is through the second. There is a small store room accessible through the stairwell, but probably not meant for the guests. Each large bedroom in the first floor has a well equipped attached bathroom, a balcony with sliding shutters, a walk-in closet (equipped with adequate lighting, a fan, luggage rack, large mirror with dressing table and stool), a king sized bed, two single seater comfortable sofas, a centre table, a Sony flat TV set (with set-top box), with moderately large laptop table below it (part of the decorated TV background panel), a stool, an electric fragrance diffuser, modular switches, well thought out ceiling lights, fan, adequate electrical outlets, a split AC of sufficient tonnage, bedside tables each with a drawer on both sides of the bed and heavy window curtains. All sparkling new. Phew! Did I miss something? The decor and woodwork is top class. (The smallest room didn't have attached bathroom, walk_in closet or sofa set). The ground floor has a dining room to one side of the entrance to staircase and fourth bedroom to the other. Another room (the caretakers room) is beside the fourth bedroom. The dining room has an adjacent kitchen, a diner table with six chairs, an L shaped sofa, a small centre table, a wash basin and a double door refrigerator. All furniture and fittings are brand new with modern styling. The entrance grill gate of the staircase when locked, locks out the fourth bedroom and the dining room as these rooms have entrances from the walkway and not through the stairwell. Sunil, the caretaker and cook, is an intelligent, courteous, obedient, resourceful, informative, well conversant, active, friendly and helpful young man (in his twenties probably), who has a golden arm for cooking. He spins out delicious steaming breakfast every morning, which is complimentary with the stay. When ordered, he will fetch all the required raw materials from market and produce toothsome meals for lunch and dinner according to one's taste as well. Special mention: I should have booked an extra day i.e. on the day I checked out, as the check out time is 7 o' clock in the morning and my train from Puri was at 07: 20 in the evening. I didn't do that and was at a loss. When I contacted our superhost Mr. Naidu, few days before our flight, he rescued us from the situation with finesse and aplomb. He booked for us an AC room in a reasonably good hotel at very competitive tariff (original rate, as I later came to know, was pretty higher than what we had to pay) and quite near to his place. Pros: Proximity to Puri Railway Station Newly built structure Provided with modern and well thought out amenities. Check in as well as check out is a breeze. Peaceful locality. Very safe and secure. Free access to terrace. Has provision for drying clothes. Windows have combination of glass and wire mesh panels. Jaquar faucets. Shallow and wide steps of staircase. Lockable walk-in closet. Excellent caretaker and cook. Auto rickshaws are always available. Cons: Neither Golden beach nor Model beach is at a 'walkable' distance in the truest sense. Had to succumb to hefty auto rickshaws fares. Same with Swargadwar the nerve centre and Sri Jagannath temple, which are away farther. Check out at 7 in the morning. (Most trains to Puri arrive quite early in the morning and check in and check out timimings had to be set accordingly). Dining room (along with small sitting area) and fourth bedroom are segregated from the rest. (Entrance to these rooms through the stairwell if possible, would have corrected the lacuna). Usage of kitchen either by the cook (for meals other than breakfast) or any of the hosts, is not free and a daily charge is levied for the same (if used). Final words: We had an excellent and memorable stay at Puri in more ways than one. An exemplary host, a great cook, a plush home to stay; and by Sri Jagannath Ji's grace, we had his Darshan, were able to enjoy the beach, visit Konark Temple (and watch its light and sound show) marginally before the lockdown due to advent of Covid-19 scare.”
