“This is the best Airbnb I ever stayed at. Livvi was an extremely gracious and generous host, and overlooked no details in ensuring our stay was comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed her stories and conversations. Her farm is beautiful and her rescue animals are amazing creatures, especially the donkeys! Staying in the countryside was a great experience, and Livvi provides this location at prices comparable to what one would find in a hostel. I would recommend this stay to anyone who wants a little different experience from a traditional hotel, hostel, or Airbnb and is looking for warm hospitality!”
Whether it's a short stay or a time for you to relax and enjoy the delights of Sligo, our Cosy Cabin is the place for you. Close to Markree Castle, Coolaney for mountain biking, Strandhill for surfing, Benbulben for trekking and Sligo for culture, great restaurants, cafes and super traditional Irish pubs. We offer a comfortable and welcoming stay in a natural space with woodlands, meadows and a river to explore. You have complete privacy but we are close by if you need us for anything.
“Could not recommend this place enough! Lovely little cosy gem in Sligo, close enough to Sligo city but you also feel completely away from the hustle and bustle! Quaint and gorgeous surroundings! Aisling was such a lovely host, we had absolutely everything we needed in the house. The personal touches made all the difference from the hot water bottles left to the fresh bread and eggs for breakfast! There’s a lovely little walk down to the river where it’s so scenic! When we come to Sligo again we will definitely be back!”
As the name suggests, this property is a converted granary which is located on our farm. Escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy a farm stay. We have sheep, horses, hens, two dogs, two pigs and two alpacas which can be seen on Quarryfield Farm Experience's Instagram page. Less than 2km from the village of Bunninadden. 8km from Tubbercurry where the hit TV series Normal People was filmed!
“We had THE BEST time at The Granary, staying for three nights at the end of our honeymoon. It is a lovingly re-done granary that is somehow both bright and airy, and super cozy. We can confirm that the heating works well--locals were commenting how we arrived right as the whiff of winter arrived in the air, and Kelly made sure we were snug enough with the turn in weather. The setting was great, just as described, on an idyllic-feeling farm but also close enough to Sligo, Gurteen, Ballymote... plenty to do. They have obviously been working hard to connect with other local businesses, and provided GREAT suggestions just up our alley (Eagles Flying is a must for animal lovers! I held a FOX!) as well as some local beer to try in the fridge. Everything you need to know is in the listing, and it truly is NOT the place for you if you don't enjoy animals. But if you do, welcome to heaven! I woke up our first morning and ventured outside with my coffee, greeted by the simply delightful Marley and Bob, and ended up feeding al pacas some breakfast with Kelly, and meeting the pigs. Later, we asked for a farm tour and Kelly offered up--IF we wanted--the chance to help them dose the lambs the next morning. YES, PLEASE!!! So the last day of our honeymoon, we spent a few hours walking the farm, meeting horses, and watching Marley and Kelly gather the lambs (Bob "helps"/finds all the best fetching sticks in the area); then we got to hop right in with Gerald to learn how to handle the sheep and give them their doses. It was amazing, and the whole family was so, so friendly and very tolerant of us city-folk learning what to do. We couldn't have asked for a better experience, and if it wasn't our very last day, we would have stayed helping all afternoon! This is really a treasure in the area and we really, really hope next time we are in Co Sligo that we can stay at The Granary again. It will be our first choice for sure.”
