“I booked through Airbnb a room in a house inhabited by Teresa. I often opt for an entire home where I am perfectly at home and where I like to stay a few days to ask me and find this sweet feeling of having a home. But by instinct and probably want to dialogue for this first contact with Peru, I chose to be "homestay". Traveling without a tour guide, I feed on these conversations with people who like to receive and share, so different from the hosts that are found in abundance on the platform and who see only business and a source of depersonalized income, who accumulate several soulless apartments and praise these disembodied spaces without wanting to meet their "clients" ... So I arrived in the middle of the afternoon in the charming little town of Chachapoyas, preceded by the kind recommendations of Teresa, the patroness of the place, who asked me to warn her when I arrived at the land terminal (the bus station ) for her to send me a taxi that would pick me up and take me to her house on the heights of the city. A charming taxi driver came to pick me up and took me under the pouring rain to the amazing Teresa. As soon as I got out of the cab, I saw a thin figure appear, making its way through the drops, with an umbrella to greet me at the door of his property. Her spontaneous smile and warm embrace encouraged me to name her on the spot Minister of Peruvian Tourism. I did not know that Airbnb had a service worthy of a five-star rating. We chained ourselves on a presentation of the places, on the recommendation which says a lot "mi casa es tu casa! On a one-hour conversation about our respective stories and about Rita's meeting, her facetious 90-year-old mother, tiny and beautiful, a little bit of a woman with senile dementia who is slowly erasing her memory, but endowed incredible wit, a sense of humor and charm to any proof! As I asked her how old she was, she gave me a big smile, as high as three apples, saying, "I'm 15! " I went on to explain to him that it was a pity that nothing could be considered between us before he was eighteen. She smiled with a charm to pierce my heart and shot me one: "it's because of my size?! ...". This is the first contact with the friendly Teresa and the hilarious Rita, who concludes this day without gunshots, explosions, superheroes, or dramatic twists. It was just a day of simple, heartfelt and generous encounters as the existence exists as soon as the soundtrack is a heartbeat.”
Cocachimba is a peaceful village facing the majestic Gocta waterfalls. We built our beautiful mud-and-stone cottage with traditional eco-construction methods. The cottage is 1 km away from the village, accessible via a private road and then 5 min of steep footpath. You'll enjoy privacy and a spectacular view, but need to be in good physical condition. Hot water, kitchen, 2 double beds, and WiFi. Check in at 2 pm* Check out is at 11 am* *(earlier with prior coordination)
“This is a truly fantastic accommodation option in a wonderful location. It offers, without doubt, the best view of the Gocta falls in Cocachimba. In actual fact you can see the falls as well as the rest of the valley all the time - even in the shower - which is just brilliant. The outside space is great with a hammock, eating area and extensive (though very steep ) gardens all with that magical view. Inside is a touch more limited in terms of space but very unique, fairly comfy and very well equipped in terms of cooking facilities. Basically, what you are going to get is complete privacy and a relatively high level of comfort in a World class location at a very fair price. My family loved the place and would very happily return. The only possible negative is that the path to the house is pretty steep and rough, particularly in rain, though in some respects this just made the place even funner!”

“Rita is a real sweet person, she made my stay so comfortable. Her house is situated very central. It is 6min walking to Plaza del Armes ad even less to the main tourist street and it is 12min walking to the main busstations. In the area there are lots of shops and restaurant. The room itself is big and clean. And you have a great hot shower. Outside they were doing constructions so you could smell and here that, but I didn't really mind. I would really recommend staying here! Rita is a really sweet person, made my stay very comfortable. The house is located very central.
