Situated in the lovely village of Portinscale this warm detached family home provides everything you might want to enjoy a stay in the Lake District. We are situated 5 minutes walk from Derwent Water and the Nicol End Marina for kayaking and water activities. Portinscale has a pub that serves food and a cafe. Our favourite eating places nearby are Swinside Inn and the Ivy Restaurant in Braithwaite. Keswick is a mere 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk for eating out, shopping and outdoor sports.

For relaxation there are lots of pubs, cafés, restaurants and other fun activities, sights and Lake walks nearby the cottage Situated only 300 metres from the property is a bus route, with other transport methods listed in the cottage

Lovely self contained apartment, private entrance, key pad access. Large en-suite king-size room with vaulted ceiling, relaxing chairs for reading, fluffy towels, robes and luxury products. Beautiful garden with BBQ/wood burning-stove. Bassenthwaite Lake is short walk and The Royal Oak pub is in the next village (Braithwaite) just over 1 mile away. The X5 bus runs past the door to Cockermouth, Workington to the west and to Keswick via Braithwaite (the pub). Great reviews and superhost.

Once again awarded the Visit England 4* Gold Award for 2023, Lilac Cottage is a delightful, modern house within a quiet, residential courtyard a couple of minutes’ level walk from the centre of Keswick and within easy walking distance of Derwentwater. It has a fabulous kitchen/dining room and newly refurbished bathroom. Furnishings and decoration have been tastefully co-ordinated throughout. Warm and cosy with full gas central heating, hot water is in constant supply from a combi boiler.

The famous Coledale horseshoe ridge walk starts and finishes in the village. The popular mountain biking trail centre at Whinlatter Forrest is less than 2 miles from the cottage.
