2 bedroom self contained apartment attached to main farmhouse and yard of a working dairy farm so cows are part of our scenery! The apartment has its own entrance and parking space with access to the garden. We are 9 km to Wexford town and ten minutes to Ferrycarrig, the Irish National Heritage Park and the N11 Dublin/Rosslare Road. We are only 15 minutes to Johnstown Castle, 20 minutes to Curracloe Beach and 25 to Rosslare Harbour.
“We really loved how welcoming and accommodating Gillian was due to our late arrival (8:30pm). The location is beautiful with cheery flowers, outdoor seating, a lovely garden, the rooms are quite spacious, the different amenities in the kitchen were perfect for us, (the jams were especially delicious), and all the different fun decorations/books/etc really made the rooms charming and neat to explore. Be mindful of the fact that this is a working farm in the country, and all that entails, including the fact that the roads do get a bit narrow if you’re driving in, but even with some water across the roads due to extensive rain, we had no problem getting to the farm. Gillian’s directions from the main road were easy to follow. A great place to escape the city and relax in the fresh air!”
Kilmallock House is our 300 year old home steeped in history, located in the heart of Ireland's Ancient East. Kilmallock is a rustic style farmhouse which oozes old world charm and period features, we feel privileged to be passing through!
“My wife and I had originally planned to stay in Dublin. But I had always envisioned vacationing in the Irish countryside. This farmhouse in Wexford county was absolutely perfect. It was so quiet, peaceful, and beautiful that we just stayed "home" most of our stay instead of venturing out for shopping or tours in neighboring towns. The town of Ballymurn is about 1 km (15 minute walk or 2 minute drive) from the farmhouse. We got some food and snacks from the convenience store for cooking at the house. We had a drink at the Anvil where we found a friendly atmosphere of locals stopping by for a drink and company on their way home from work. Reminded me of "Cheers" and was not rowdy at all. We ate at the restaurant/bar inside the Slaney Inn in the town of Oilgate (7 minute drive). The food was good and everyone was very nice. On that note, everyone we met on our vacation was friendly and courteous. A note on dining, if you want to eat out after 6 pm, you will probably need to drive to drive to Wexford or Enniscorthy. Each is about 20 minutes away. We had intended to tour castles, etc., but we enjoyed relaxing at the house. My wife and i are dog people so it was nice having Tiggy there to greet us in the mornings and upon our return from outings. He is very sweet. He appreciates attention but is not pushy or obnoxious. Louise gave us thorough walkthrough of our accommodations upon our arrival and was always there to help with any needs. This place is highly recommended if you need a place to get away from it all and relax.”
Spacious wooden round chalet in a rural setting, yet close to town, beach, and forest walks
“I spent a weekend at the round chalet and I can say it was great. The place is pretty new and all the furnished is and areas are well made. There are 2 bedrooms, the bathroom is pretty big and shower is huge, kitchen and living room are fully furnished and you cannot get annoyed here as there is a dvd player, a stereo, books, table games, everything to be entertained while you are here. The weather outside was not good at all, but you cannot get bored here. Good to know: there are 2 dogs, 2 cats and 5 hens here, and the host is so kind to leave in the fridge eggs and jams homemade. You can also find fruits, milk and butter, everything to make a good breakfast or at least a sneak. As I went with my wife and or little 5 months baby, I asked for a cot and they prepared one for me in the bedroom. I highly recommend this place for nature lovers, if you are looking for a comfortable place to spend few nights in total relax this is the perfect place for you.”
