Kuranda, home to the Indigenous Djabugay people is tucked away within an ancient Rainforest. Jum Rum Place is located only 1.6km from the Kuranda village, North Queensland backing onto Jum Rum Creek Conservation Park where there are numerous species of birds, Striped possums, Suger Gliders, Pademelons with abundance of butterflies including the Ulysses and Cairns Bird Wing. The beautiful Jum Rum Creek Walking Track is close by which takes you into the Kuranda Village, only a 15 minute walk.

An ideal base for nature lovers to explore the Atherton Tableland, the bird list includes over 200 species, including Victoria's Riflebird, Blue-faced Parrot finch. Mammals include Tree kangaroos and Herbert River and Green Ringtail Possums.

Hemingway’s on the Hill is a rustic private indulgence. Set high on the hill, bearing witness to the best of rural life. Cows graze paddocks, and flocks of birds fly overhead. Life is everywhere. Come relax at our property! Indulge in the crystal clear water of Fishery Creek just outside the front gate, pick some fruit off our citrus trees, and explore the small towns nearby in our piece of paradise Perfect spot for access to Babinda, Harveys Creek or Josephine Falls, and Gordonvale Woolies is a 13min drive away. Please note we have two big friendly dogs that will come say hello, we also have two young kids but they won’t disturb you!
